Ciolo Canyon and Cipolliane Caves

We will start from the Bar Incanto parking lot, we will look out from the suggestive bridge over the natural inlet, we will go trekking along the path that goes up from the base of the Natural Canyon to the top, we will enjoy the unique view from the summit and we will go down the natural stone steps that will take us to sea level at the base of the Canyon. We will discover a petrified coral reef, going up along the path in the heart of the Canyon, a very popular sport climbing site, we will observe the Rabbit Cave,  the Caves of the Prazziche di Sopra , we will explore the  Caves of the Moscerini.  We will observe the  fauna  that inhabits this particular extreme environment, such as  birds of prey  and  reptiles  and we will discover the very particular  rock flora  that grows spontaneously on the high walls. We will climb up to the top of the Canyon to enjoy the  breathtaking view of the entire Natural Park. From here we will go down along the north ridge of the Canyon, where we will explore the suggestive  Caves of the Prazziche di Sotto.  Lunch break, a bit of relaxation and departure along the suggestive Hiking Trail to discover the  Cipolliane Caves.  You will be guided along the famous Cipolliane Caves Trail, characterized by  rocky slopes  and typical Mediterranean vegetation, immersed in a  breathtaking rocky landscape , where the signs of a peasant architecture bordering on the extreme can be clearly distinguished, with dry elements built sheer on the cliff where tiny vegetable gardens, terraces of vines and prickly pears give life to an environment of incomparable beauty and will allow us to enjoy a breathtaking view. We will explore the  Cipolliane Caves , an ancient home for prehistoric man, which today offer a naturalistic and paleontological heritage of immense value. We will observe ancient fossils embedded in the rock and we will do a small Paleontology laboratory. We will continue the Trekking pushing ourselves to the inlet of Marina di Novaglie, with its characteristic tourist port set in the rock. From here, exploration of the  Blue Grotto  and the coast of  Marina di Novaglie . Coastal trekking and return to Ciolo where the excursion will end.

Leuca the Devil's Cave on the Finibus Terrae Path

We will explore Leuca and the Finibus Terre Path, along the strip of land that meets the sea at the southernmost point of Puglia. We will watch two seas embrace from the mystical Sanctuary of Santa Maria di Leuca, we will descend more than 500 stone steps along the Christian Via Pietrina, walking along the equipped paths of the Otranto-Leuca Natural Park. We will explore the Canale delle Menghe, we will visit Santa Maria di Leuca and its Art Nouveau villas, Palazzo Ramirez and the Villa della Meridiana, walking along the seafront we will also discover the ancient and characteristic "Bagnarole". We will continue by visiting the Aragonese Tower "dell'Omo Morto" which tells of legends of fishermen and pirates. We will explore the bay of the "Scalo" ancient marine landing and incredible sanctuary of marine biodiversity, we will go up to the "la Fonte" locality. Continuing along the Finibus Terrae Trail we will visit Grotta Porcinara, an ancient place of worship for sailors who sailed these seas and who left their prayers engraved on the walls of this cave. We will visit the natural pools of the green bay and continue the Trekking until we reach Punta Ristola, here with a fantastic Speleotrekking we will explore the famous Grotta del Diavolo. We will enjoy the unique panorama against the backdrop of the Grotte delle Tre Porte. We will continue the Trekking along the coast overlooking the Grotta del Fiume and then Grotta dei Giganti. From here we will continue along the rural roads of Contrada Marchello, we will enter the Canalone di Leuca from where we will descend towards the coast along the Porcinara Trail and return to the Leuca seafront where the excursion will end.

In Lecce, you can marvel at the jaw-dropping Baroque architecture, explore the ancient Roman amphitheater, or simply unwind in one of the many cozy cafes. The tour ends in Ostuni Closest airport is Brindisi (BDS) . Bari can be another option and the airport which connects with international flights better. Please note the transfers are not included, I will be organizing group transfers to airports or train stations. Hikers joining Trails of Amalfi as a group and depending on the amount of people going we might have a private transfer or we will take the train, which ever is more economic.
